In April we went to Founders Day in Dripping Springs before my big trip to Hawaii. I have always went to this since I was a kid and have always had a ton of fun. Dad was helping with Jeff's BBQ cook off group, yummy BBQ by the greatest cook EVA (well besides my dad)! I stayed a little later than my parents did because I was having fun chit chatting. This is where I met Scott, I have never laughed so hard in my life.
Well now to my trip! WHAT CAN I SAY about this...... California was so much fun, we landed in San Jose and it was full throttle. We went to Santa Cruz and met up with a friend of ours Tim at Mobo's (sushi resturaunt) take it I am not big on sushi but OMG I fell in love with it then! LMAO. Saturday we got up and headed over to Saint Louis Obisbo with Tim, Josh, Shell and I ... Tim and Shell went to Cal poly so they wanted to both show me around the town. We ate at Firestones which has the best Tri-Tip Sandwich (comparison is basically like a sliced beef sandwich) but better! Then we headed over to Pismo beach and to a winery. Just tons of fun. Easter was hard for me this year because I was not at home in my comfort zone, but Michelle's family was so much fun. The food was delish! Monday morning came early but we were off to HAWAII! What can I say about Hawaii..... I WILL VISIT YOU AGAIN! We stayed in a condo in Kona, on the big Island. Not much to say besides, Eating, Drinking and A LOT OF RELAXING! Every morning we would wake up and sit on the Laini (balcony) of the condo and watch the sunrise and surfers. Some times there would be a cruise ship that came in that we would watch. Just all around relaxation. Janice and I went on a Manta Ray night dive and words can not express how terriffied I was for 1. Snorkling for the first time and 2. AT NIGHT!!! Really why would I do this.... once in the water I had a mini panic attack but got over it fast. We laid out holding a surfboard made with lights to bring in the plankton but it was amazing to see this huge creatures 12ft to 14ft wide swimming inches from our face. I WILL SO RECOMMEND going if you ever make it to Kona. The next few days were lazy days at the pool and the beach. Then Friday we went on a Chartered fishing boat. Captian Mark was a ton of fun on the Camelot (highly recommend this one too)! We were trolling around and the line snapped... Josh reeled in a 35-40lb Short nose spear fish that was simply beautiful. This is the rarest marlin that can be caught in the hawaiian ocean so Capt. Mark was super happy. After trolling around for another hour or so the line snapped again and Janice reeled in a 142 1/2 Ahi Tuna.... SO PRETTY! That night was the night of our Luau and I was pretty sad for my first experience. IT RAINED!!! ugh! Oh well it was fun afterwards partying with our Captian and going to the bars. I fell in love with the random hotdog stand at 2am! haha! Just tons of fun.... I could go on and on but I will spare you all the minor details of the trip. I want to go back!! I didn't want to leave....
