Needing help on this one... This young child is a really close family friend of ours and is going through a lot of test to find out what is wrong with him. He is such a sweet boy and it is very heart wrenching to see him in pain. If you would like to donate to this special cause Please see info at the bottom of this blog. :)

Ty has been experiencing unexplained and unexpected medical challenges. His growth rate slowed dramatically after age 3 and his health has gradually declined. Ty has suffered for more than a year with repeated kidney stone formation, pain management, severe stomach pain causing inability to eat and drink, uncontrollable asthma and recurrent infections throughout his body. The progression and intensity of his illnesses and addition of new symptoms have constricted him to specialty doctor’s only available at the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minnesota. At this time this is the only facility (over 1,000 miles from home) with the medical knowledge and ability to monitor and assist in Ty’s medical treatments. He is being treated for Primary Hyperoxaluria (rare liver and kidney disorder), Enteric Hyperoxaluria (intestinal absorption disorder), Celiac Sprue (dietary auto immune disorder), suppressed
immune system, asthma complicated by recurrent non-responding pneumonia and uncontrollable bladder and bowel functions as well as side effects from a long list of necessary medications. In the past 7 months, and after three visits to the Mayo Clinic, the family has incurred overwhelming amounts of debt from travel, time away from work, medical bills, prescribed medications and expensive specialty foods from prescribed dietary restrictions.
In addition to this excessive load, Ty’s mother has been away from work since November 2007 and is unable to return due to Ty’s ongoing medical needs and based upon the advice and recommendations of the Mayo Doctor’s. Currently it is doctor’s orders that Ty return to Minnesota in April, July and December 2008 at minimum. Ty’s blood count is monitored weekly and at any given time could warrant an unexpected trip to the Mayo.

I am sorry to hear this about a child. Children need to be happy and worry free. I will be sending a check to the address given since I won't be able to make the dance.
