I never knew what to think about the pain of the word above until several years ago. My cousin Joey was diagnoised with liver cancer. As I heard this bad news all I could do was sit and cry and think of all the memories I had with him. At the age of 14 he was given a liver transplant and was free from cancer just taking medication to get over what rejection he would get from his body not taking his new liver. He was doing well until the age of 16 when he was told by the doctors that the cancer had came back. When they told me this I again felt sad for him and of course cried like normal, saying that there is nothing else they can do for him. A week before his 18 birthday he passed on...4 years later I sit here writing this and missing him each and everyday more and more. As many of you know my aunt dede on my fathers side also passed from lung cancer. She was are rock to our family and we all miss her as well.
Two months ago we were told that my mom's father had severe cancer of the throat. I was concerned because he never put down a cigeratte to tell us hello when we walked through the door of their home. He has lived a long healthy life and we have been fortunate to see him in a healthy state. He has been going to chemo and radiation every day for three weeks with two more weeks to go. Last week he was told by the doctor that he could no longer see the lump or feel it just by personal look, no machines. So this is a good thing Right?? right.... the doctor can't see it! So for two more weeks he will be going to chemo and radiation to make it still decrease in size. Yes good news for once about this cuss word we call "cancer". I will update as soon as he goes back to the doctor with the catscan and MRI to see if it has indeed shrunk ins size. Thank you for everyones prayers and hopefully I will have more happier news on this matter in a few weeks!
